Seems like the perfect mantra

Amanhã é o dia e eu estou tão ansiosa que hoje saltei da cama antes das 6 da manhã. Num Sábado!

O Amor às Riscas vai de lua-de-mel durante duas semanas mas prometo voltar com muita coisa bonita para partilhar.

Até lá, deixo-vos com aquele que vai ser o meu mantra nos próximos dias (e porque não para o resto da vida?). Não vos parece perfeito? Todos devíamos sonhar um pouco mais.

Tomorrow is the day and I'm so anxious that today I jumped out off bed before 6 a.m. It's a Saturday, people!

Amor às Riscas is going on a two week honeymoon, but I promisse to return with a lot of pretty things to share.

Until then, I'm leaving you with my mantra for the next two weeks (and why not for the rest of my life?). It looks like the perfect plan, right? We all should dream a little more.

A different kind of first look

Já partilhei aqui que adoro a ideia de um first look. E acredito mesmo que não retira emoção ao momento da entrada na igreja ou no caminho até ao altar civil. Pelo contrário. Assim, temos emoção a dobrar!

Hoje mostro-vos uma ideia diferente, em que o noivo é que surpreende a noiva - não acham lindo?

I've already shared here that I love the idea of doing a first look. And I truly believe it doesn't take anything away from the "walking down the aisle" moment. It's just double the emotion!

Bringing back the 'stache

Ontem foi dia de fazer bigodes e bocas cá em casa. Ora aí está uma frase que nunca pensei vir a dizer na vida!
Juntámos a família e pusemos mãos à obra.
Se quiserem experimentar, vão precisar de:

Yesterday was “making mustaches and lips day”. Never in a million years, would I think these words could come out of my mouth!

We got the family together and just went for it.

If you want to try it, this is what you’ll need:

-  Lápis e papel para desenhar os moldes
-  Folhas de feltro preto e encarnado com 2mm de espessura
-  Paus de espetada
-  Tesouras normal e de bicos (para os bigodes mais elaborados)
-  Cola
-  Alfinetes
As instruções são muito simples:
-  Desenhar e recortar os moldes e prender no feltro com alfinetes
-  Recortar tudo em duplicado
-  Colar entre cada dois bigodes ou bocas, um pauzinho de espetada ligeiramente inclinado

- Paper and pencil for the patterns

- Black and red 1/16-inch felt sheets

- Wood sticks

- Regular and pointy scissors (for the more elaborate mustaches)

- Glue

- Pins

The instructions are super easy:

- Draw and cut the patterns and stick them to the felt sheet with pins

- Cut every mustache and lips twice

- Glue the two pieces together with the wood stick in between, slightly tilted

Sweet little details

A minha tia fez esta almofada com o tecido e os botões das mangas do vestido que a minha mãe usou quando se casou com o meu pai, há trinta e oito anos. O vestido é lindo e, para 1973, bastante arrojado. Afinal, quantas meninas é que podem dizer que a mãe se casou com um vestido justinho e às bolinhas?
Pensei muito antes de decidir cortá-lo mas ainda bem que o fiz, porque fiquei com a certeza de que valeu muito a pena.
Esta é só mais uma forma de sentir que a minha mãe está comigo naquele dia.

Thirty eight years ago, my mom married my dad in a beautiful tight polka dot dress, which for 1973 was very, very bold!
I asked my aunt to handmade this ring pillow with the fabric and buttons from the sleeves of my mom’s dress and didn’t regret cutting it, as it turned out so perfect and sweet.
This is just one of the many ways I will feel like my mommy is with me on my wedding day.

Something blue

A tradição da noiva usar algo azul no dia do casamento será uma das que vou cumprir, daqui a dez dias - glup! E será parecido com esta imagem deliciosa - um pendente em ouro com um olhinho da inveja azul que a minha mãe levava para todo o lado e que, há quase onze anos, anda sempre comigo.

Just like the girl in this adorable picture, I’m also going to wear my something blue on my garter - in just ten days - glup! It’s a gold envy eye charm that my mom took with her everywhere and that I haven't let go of, for the past eleven years.
