Washi eggs!

O que é que temos quando juntamos washi tape e ovos da Páscoa? A mim apetece-me chamar-lhes washi eggs! E o efeito é giro que se farta. Vejam só!

Estes foram feitos pela deusa do DIY Chelsea e se forem aqui ela explica-vos tudo, tim-tim por tim-tim (conhecem alguma expressão mais fofa que esta?).

Se precisarem de comprar washi tape e não souberem onde encontrar, a Holamama e a Pink Almond Tree (ambos fornecedores Simplesmente Branco, pois claro!) satisfazem todas as vossas washi needs.

What do we get when we mix cool washi tape and Easter eggs? I say we get washi eggs! And as you can see, they're as cute as can be.

Clementine macarons

Ah... os encantadores e suaves macarons... 

Tal como a Ez, também eu me sinto intimidada por eles.  São tão delicados e os ingredientes tão diferentes do habitual que me fazem sempre ter medo de arriscar fazê-los. 

Estes são de clementina e como eu adoro o sabor de uma boa clementina! Não são lindos? Foi a Ez que fez. E parece que não é assim uma tarefa tão impossível de realizar quanto pensamos. Ela explica tudinho aqui, com direito a receita, fotos doces (como de costume) e ainda nos oferece etiquetas giras se os quisermos oferecer. Obrigada Ez!

Ah... the lovely and soft macarons...

Much like Ez, they also intimidate me a lot. And I mean, a LOT! They're so delicate and the ingredients so different that I'm always afraid to try and bake them.

These are clementine macarons and OMG how I love the flavour of a good clementine! Aren't they gorgeous? Ez made them. And according to her, it's not that impossible a task as we might think. She explains everything here, recipe, sweet photos (as usual), free printable gift tags and all. Thank you Ez!

Fiz umas bandeirinhas em serapilheira com as palavras 'para sempre' em tecido que tenho mesmo que fotografar e partilhar aqui. Mas enquanto isso, deixo-vos com estas preciosidades que encontrei no Etsy, esse mundo encantado de todas as coisas fofas e handmade. É tão fácil perder-me por lá!

I must admit I've been a little obsessed with burlap these days.

I've made some burlap banners with the words 'para sempre' (it means forever) that I really need to photograph and share with you. But meanwhile, I'll leave you with these cuties from Etsy, that magical place of everything pretty and handmade. It's so easy to get lost there!

Vamos fazer um destes?

Wanna make one of these?

Vão precisar de:
- dois quadrados de tecidos diferentes
- entertela de cola dupla face
- modelo para o moinho
- um botão colorido
- tesoura, agulha e linha
- ferro de engomar

You'll need:
- two pieces of different fabrics
- double sided glue interlining
- pinwheel printable
- one button
- scissors, needle and thread
- iron

Agora, o passo a passo:
1. Recortar o modelo do moinho
2. Usando o modelo, cortar um quadrado de um dos tecidos, deixando uma folga de mais ou menos 1cm
3. Repetir o passo anterior para o outro tecido
4. Repetir o passo anterior para a entertela
5. Descolar o papel da entertela para que adira a ambos os tecidos
6. Fazer uma sandwich com os três quadrados, deixando a entertela no meio
7. Passar a ferro, sem vapor (!), até que os tecidos estejam colados
8. Recortar o excesso, usando novamente o modelo

Now, for the how-to:
1. Cut the pinwheel printable
2. Using the printable, cut a square of one of the fabrics, leaving an edge of about half an inch
3. Repeat the previous step for the other fabric
4. Repeat the previous step for the interlining
5. Remove the paper from the interlining so that it can glue both pieces of fabric
6. Make a sandwich with the three squares, leaving the interlining in the middle
7. Iron it with no steam (!) till the fabrics are glued together
8. Remove the excess fabric, using the printable again

9. Com o modelo em cima dos tecidos, cortar as quatro linhas picotadas até chegar ao círculo
10. Preparar a agulha e a linha
11. Dobrar as quatro pontas do quadrado até ao meio
12. Prender bem com o dedo
13. Coser até ficar bem preso
14. Aplicar o botão colorido
15. Apreciar o resultado!

9. With the printable on top of the fabrics, cut the four dotted lines until you reach the circle
10. Prepare the neddle and thread
11. Fold all four sides to the middle
12. Secure them with your finger
13. Sew them till they're secure
14. Apply the button
15. Enjoy the result!

Felt Flower DIY magic

Tinha este tutorial guardado há duas semanas. Ontem, entre um espirro e outro (o ano novo brindou-me com uma gripe daquelas!), agarrei-me a uma folha de feltro rosa, tesoura, cola e um alfinete de dama e em menos de 10 minutos saiu esta flor das minhas mãos. Perfeita para aplicar num cachecol, num gancho para o cabelo, numa carteira. Enfim, onde quiserem! Aqui podem ver outras formas para as pétalas, cada uma mais fofa que a outra!

I had this tutorial saved for two weeks now. Yesterday, between sneezes (the new year brought me the flu), I grabed a pink felt sheet, a pair of scissors, glue and a pin back and in less than 10 minutes this cutie came out of my hands. You can apply it on a scarf, your hair, a purse. Wherever you feel like. Here you can check out other ways of doing the petals. Each one cuter than the other!
